Gough Yadkinville - Dorothy Mae Hutchens Gough, 92, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center. She was born July 5, 1922 in Yadkin County to the late Gertie Mae Smith and George Anderson Hutchens. She was married August 31, 1946 to Roy Clinton Gough, Sr. Dorothy and Roy owned and operated Gough Tours from 1968 until she retired in 1984. She worked in several WSFC school cafeterias from 1984 until she fell and broke her leg in 1989. She babysat for her grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews along the way. She was a true caregiver to many, many people. She loved people, there was no doubt, that was her calling in life. She was loved by many people as well in return. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy, who passed away in 1974; sister, Sarah Daisy "SD" (Earl) Eastman; brother-in-law, Charlie A. Long; great granddaughter, Maggie Elizabeth Ransom. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Kay (Robert) Ransom; son, Roy Clinton, Jr. (Carolyn) Gough; grandsons, Robert Ransom, Jr., Jimmy (Jennifer) Ransom, Roy Clinton Gough III (Trey); granddaughters, April Ransom Suarez, Kimberly (Justin) Johnson; ten great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Long; and several nieces and nephews. Her graveside service will be held at 2:30, Friday, September 5, 2014 at Enon Baptist Cemetery by the Rev. Tracy Webb. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family would like to thank Yadkin Nursing Care Center for loving our mama and taking such good care of her the last 19 months.
