Chappell Jonesville- Mr. Harold Cloyce Chappell, 88, of Mountain Crest Road passed away Sunday September 7, 2014 at his home. He was born May 18, 1926 in Yadkin County to the late John and Bertha Benton Chappell. Mr. Chappell was retired from Container Corporation of Winston-Salem, was a faithful member of Swaims Baptist Church, and a veteran of the US Army serving in World War II. After his retirement, Mr. Chappell enjoyed spending his time farming and raising his cattle. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Mark Harold Chappell; 2 sisters, Refine Hudson, Vermell Chappell; and two brothers, Cecil Chappell and Wayne Chappell. Surviving are his beloved wife of 65 years, Louise M. Chappell, of the home; a daughter-in-law, Amy Chappell; granddaughter, Iris Chappell; 2 sisters, Edwina Shore and Carol Parks both of Hamptonville; a brother-in-law, Jimmy D. Mathis; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Tuesday at Swaims Baptist Church. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM Tuesday in Swaims Baptist Church by Rev. Joey Moore, Rev. Roger Groce, and Chaplain Greg Anderson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
