Marie Gough Hanes

Hanes Yadkinville- Mrs. Marie Gough Hanes, 85, of Lone Hickory road passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at The Villages of Wilkes. She was born November 29, 1928 in Yadkin County to the late Ranz and Velma Hoots Gough. Mrs. Hanes was retired from Hanes Knitting Company of Winston-Salem, and later retired as a Home Health aide for several years. She was a faithful member of Sandy Springs Baptist Church, and especially loved working with her different crafts, and being a loving homemaker, which included, quilting, cake decorating, basket weaving, and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Hanes, a son, Joel Dean Hanes, 2 sisters, Blanche G. Gough, Betty G. Wiles, and a brother, Thomas F. Gough. Surviving are her daughter, Decca Hanes, Lone Hickory; granddaughter, Deanna H. Watts, North Wilkesboro; and a great-granddaughter, Kacie Watts, North Wilkesboro. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday at Sandy Springs Baptist Church. Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM in the church with Rev.
