Beck Yadkinville - Daniel (Dan) George Beck, Sr. (86) passed away peacefully September 16, 2014 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington, NC after a short illness. Dan was born October 11, 1927 in Davidson County to the late Chester Beck and Fannie Misenheimer Beck. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Beck; sisters, Nellie George, Kathleen Surratt and infant sister, Helen; youngest son, Bobby Beck, and long time companion, Joy Stinson. He is survived by his sons, Danny (Penny) Beck; Perry (Brenda) Beck; daughter in law, Jill Beck; grandchildren, Danyel (Eric) Johnson, Nikki (Kevin) Craver, Dustin (Melissa) Beck and step grandchild, Bryan (Tenesha) Abernethy; five great-grandchildren, numerous loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and three great-great nieces and nephews. Dan Beck spent his entire life in the automobile business starting his career in Winston-Salem, then moving to Mt. Airy and finally spending 41 years as the owner of Dan Beck Ford in Yadkinville. Dan was a very active member of the Sertoma and Lions Clubs of Yadkinville, spending years working community youth football games and raising money for the Lions projects for the blind. He was a founding member of the Yadkin County Club. He was an avid fisherman and golfer. His funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 20th at 3:00 p.m. at Northwood Baptist Church, 1309 Northwood Church Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055, by the Rev. Allen Barker and Roger Jennings in Yadkinville with a graveside service to be held immediately afterward at Yadkin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, two hours prior to the service at Northwood Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Willowbrook Care in Yadkinville and the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington for all the care and devotion they provided during Dan's brief illness.
