Beatrice Prim Bates

Bates Yadkinville - Era Beatrice Prim Bates, 76, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014 at her home. She was born August 20, 1938 in Yadkin County to the late Joseph Boston Prim and Lonia Jackson Prim. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Russell Grant Bates; sisters, Myrle Dockery, Ruby Daniell; brothers, Harold Prim, Bill Prim; nephew, Bruce Dockery. Surviving are her husband, Walser Bates; sister, Helen (Joe) Brown; brother, Buddy (Nellie) Prim; sister-in-law, Katherine Bates Williard; special nephews, Jeff Brown and Jason Brown; special niece and caregiver, Lyn Daniell McGroarty; several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Center United Methodist Church by Chaplain Greg Anderson, Dr. Bonnie Harris, and David Nance. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends after the service on Sunday in the fellowship hall.
