Dwayne Byrd

State Road Mr. Ralph "Dwayne" Byrd, 57, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at his home. Mr. Byrd was born January 19, 1957 in Surry County to Horace and Virginia Sparks Byrd. He was a member of Day Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Byrd was also a member of the National Candle Association. He had his real estate license and his pilot license. In addition to his parents, Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Owens. He is survived by his loving wife, Nina Edwards Byrd; two children, Amanda (Justin) Hamlin and David Hall; stepchildren, Aaron (Samantha) Jarvis, Serina Jarvis, Mykinna Jarvis, and special son, Zebulun Jarvis; special grandson, Landon Cummings; grandson, Samuel Jarvis; granddaughter on the way, Maddie Jarvis; and one brother, Alvin (Kathy) Byrd. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 3:00PM at White Plains Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Pickett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from at the church. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville is serving the Byrd family.
