Clarence Odell Smith

Smith East Bend - Clarence Odell Smith, 76, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at his home. He was born March 18, 1938 in Yadkin County to the late Taft Leak Smith and Elva Conrad Smith. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Willie Gray (Roger) Hoots; brother, Thomas Lee Smith. Surviving are his wife Roseleen Brooks Smith; son, David (Margaret) Smith; step daughter, Judy (Tommy) Myers; sister, Libby (Gene) Johnson; brother, Douglas (Linda) Smith; grandchildren, Stafford (Samantha) Smith, Emily Smith; step grandchildren, Michael Myers, Roy Myers; great grandchildren, Trayden Smith, Tyryn Smith; sister-in-law, Betty Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Enon Baptist Church by the Rev. Mark Elmore and the Rev. Tim Tucker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
