Richard Irving Welch

Welch Mocksville - Richard Irving Welch, 78, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014 at his home. He was born July 18, 1936 to the late Irving Welch and Genevieve Pazbzierski Welch. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a step-daughter, Pamela Shires; one grandchild; sister, Joan Welch. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn "Carol" Taylor Welch; children, Pamela (Lewis) Hodge, Barbara (Patrick) Stevens, Patricia Swindle; step-children, Angela Shires Foster, Tricia Shires; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Buczek, Rosalie Dunham, Judith (Chuck) Breese, Karen Perry; brother, Carl (Shirley) Welch. His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Allen Mullins. Military Rights will be done by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, which is serving the Welch family.
