Brown Yadkinville- Mrs. Julia Hobson Brown died peacefully at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC on October 22, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Julia was born December 2, 1955 in Elkin, NC to Dewey W. Hobson and Pansy Miller Hobson. She had a special way of encouraging and lifting up all those around her with her sweet, humble, and loving spirit. One of her greatest passions was teaching and loving children. She was employed as a school nurse for Yadkin County Schools and enjoyed working with the students and staffs at Yadkinville Elementary, Yadkin Success Academy, and Yadkin Early College. She was an active member at Union Grove Baptist Church where she taught the 1st and 2nd Grade Sunday School class for over 20 years. Surviving are her loving husband of 37 years, Foy Brown, children Nathan (Amanda), Rachel Friel (Justin), Lucas (Courtney), and the light of her life, Kaitlyn Brown, her granddaughter. Also surviving are her mother, brothers Monroe (Connie), Garnett (Lorraine), brother in-law Buster Brown (Sara) and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, October 24 at 3:30 at Union Grove Baptist Church in Yadkinville, NC. The family will receive friends immediately after the service. Julia's family would like to thank Dr. Patricia Zekan and staff of Winston-Salem Health Care, Dr. Lisa Evans and staff of the Derrick L. Davis Cancer Center, and the staff of 9 West Oncology Unit at Forsyth Medical Center for compassionate and exemplary care.
