Hamptonville Mr. Billy Jack Reavis, 77, passed away Monday, October 27, 2014 at his home. Mr. Reavis was born March 25, 1937 in Yadkin County to Beveridge and Ruth Myers Reavis. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Reavis worked at Walmart for 22 years and was also a lifelong farmer. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, Mr. Reavis was preceded in death by a brother, Rex Reavis. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nola Roberts Reavis; three children, Keith J. Reavis, B. Dwayne (Kim) Reavis, and Trenna (Normand) Brunelle; three grandchildren, Sandy (Gray) Wooten, Kenny (Danielle) Reavis, and Casey Shields (Jeremy Milsap); four great grandchildren, Lillyann Wooten, Addison, Emma Kate, and Ivy Shields; three sisters, Betty Jo (Thomas) Stroud, Christine (Bill) Casstevens, and Karen (Dean) Holcomb; and one sister-in-law, Mary Reavis. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 1:30PM at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Burt Mathis and Rev. Glenn Belchum officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Reavis will lie in state from 1:00 to 1:30PM. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice, PO Box 1267 Yadkinville, NC 27055 or to New Hope Baptist Church, 4921 Harmony Highway Hamptonville, NC 27020.
