Boonville Angels sang as Shirley Dudley Sprinkle, 73, entered the indescribable beauty of Heaven on November 4, 2014, after a 30 year health struggle. God opened His arms and she heard the divine words, "Well done good and faithful servant" Matthew 25:23. Shirley was born November 8, 1940 to the late Melvin and Josephine Dudley. She graduated from Boonville High School in 1960 and married the love of her life, Bobby Gray Sprinkle, June 12, 1960. They were joined together again, as Bobby Gray preceded her in death. Shirley was an active member of her childhood church, Mt. Pleasant UMC, which was the church where she married Bobby Gray and they raised their family. She was dedicated and committed to Mt. Pleasant until her passing. Shirley worked tobacco fields, drove school buses, worked at Bates Sleep Wear, and she ended her work career as an instructor at RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company. Proverbs 31:25 "Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come" Shirley was filled with laughter and humor, both are contagious and infectious so everyone she met has a brighter smile and a little giggle inside. She loved Elvis, frogs, and holidays. She celebrated each holiday to the fullest. Beautiful memories will forever warm the hearts of her family and friends. Other family preceding her in death: in-laws, Homer and Alma Sprinkle; and grandparents, Will and Bessie Stewart. Shirley leaves to honor her memory, daughters, Tammy (Jerry) Raye and Tracy (Mike) Riazzi; grandchildren, Brooke Wolfe, Dudley (Ashley) Raye, Brittany (Robbie) Adkins, Jordan Raye, and Brianna Riazzi; great grandchildren, Zoey & Mallie-Belle Tucker and Riley & Molly Adkins; brothers and sisters, Calvin (Vicky) Dudley, Bobbie Adams, Kay (Keith) Hobson, Barbara (Jackie) Jester, and Mickey (Melynda) Dudley; a special sister-in-law, Christine Sprinkle Smith, that she loved like her sisters; an uncle, Junior (Barbara) Stewart; a very special friend that were constant in her life, Jane Wall, and Betsy & Ronnie Vanhoy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and countless friends. Her family and friends will celebrate Shirley's birthday on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A service honoring and celebrating her life will be held Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 2:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Greg Gordon officiating and Edward Karriker and Marty Matthews speaking. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant UMC cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant UMC Cemetery Fund, 1524 Nebo Road Boonville, NC 27011 or to American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all family and friends for their thoughts and prayers and to the staff of Forsyth Medical Center, CCU for the wonderful care given to Shirley.
