Jack Monroe Cheek

Cheek Hamptonville - Jack Monroe Cheek, Sr., 82, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014. He was born January 5, 1932 in Yadkin County to the late Samuel "Mann" Aaron Cheek and Novella Nicks Cheek. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Granville Cheek, Harold Cheek; children's mother, Barbara Jean Cheek. Surviving are his children, Michael Gray (Pamela) Cheek, William Mark (Christy) Cheek, Jack Monroe "Jay" (Wendy) Cheek, Jr.; grandchildren, Denver, Seth, Emily, Garrett, Austin, Anna-Jay; sister, Wilda Jean Coleman; brothers, Kenneth Cheek, Ray (Carol) Cheek, Allen (Dean) Cheek, Phillip (Mary Lou) Cheek, Douglas (Wendy) Cheek; sister-in-law, Blanche Cheek; special friend, Roselyn Jackson; several nieces, nephews, and other family members. His funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Oak Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Travis Chipman, the Rev. Joe Souther. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with full military honors by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the N.C. National Guard. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville.
