Carolyn Childress Hamm

State Road Mrs. Carolyn Jane Childress Hamm, 64, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Hamm was born December 30, 1949 to Numie and Ila Mae Bryant Childress. She was a member of Peacehaven Baptist Church. In addition to her father, Mrs. Hamm was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Nolan and Glenda Childress. She is survived by her mother; her husband, Charlie Dean Hamm; two children, Shawn (Krystal) Byrd and Tony (Mary) Byrd; two step children, Marty (Crystal) Hamm and Gregory Hamm; four grandchildren, Easton, Justin, Tyler, and Colt Byrd; two step grandchildren, Ally and Grayson Hamm; three sisters, Dorothy (Gary) Cagle, Anita (Joe) Messick, and Phyllis Lawing; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Monday, December 1, 2014 at 1:30PM at Peacehaven Baptist Church with Rev. John Bowman and Rev. George Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville prior to the service. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Tabitha "Tabby" Senter for all the love, care, and support shown to Mrs. Hamm and her family.
