Kathy Steelman Wood

Boonville Mrs. Kathy Ann Steelman Wood, 62, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Wood was born March 9, 1952 in Forsyth County to Warner and Gurtha Brown Steelman. She was a member of North Oak Ridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed golfing and shopping, and any activity with her grandkids. She was the official cheerleader and "Team Grandma" for the Diamond Girls softball team. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Dean Wood. She is survived by two daughters, JoAnn (Todd) Norman and Deanna Wood; two grandchildren, Shea and Jack Triplett; two step grandchildren, Chris (Paige) Norman and Justin (Dianne) Norman; three step great grandchildren, Peyton, Charlotte and Madison Norman; a brother, Randy (Elizabeth) Steelman; and many other special family members. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 2:00PM at North Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Link and Rev. Mitch Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 2504 N Oak Ridge Church Rd, Boonville, NC 27011 or to Mtn. Valley Hospice PO Box 1267 Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice and to Lee Orange for all the loving care they provided for Mrs. Wood.
