Dwight Monroe Pendergrass

Pendergrass Mocksville - Dwight Monroe Pendergrass, 74, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2014. He was born January 20, 1940 in Wilkes County to the late Vaughn Pendergrass and Vallie Souther Pendergrass. Dwight served in the U.S. Marines as a Lance Corporal. He enjoyed serving his country, being outdoors, flowers, and watching wrestling. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Pendergrass, Granville Pendergrass. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Vestal Pendergrass; daughter, Tammy (Wade) Nicholson; grandchildren, Chasidy Frasier, Jeremy Nicholson; great grandchildren, Savannah, Brooklynn, Alexis, Bentlee; sister, Virginia (Jerry) Rollins, Gladys Rhodes; brother, Charlie (Beverly) Pendergrass, Tommy Pendergrass, Ricky Pendergrass; several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Rock Springs Baptist Church by the Rev. Stephen Hedgecock and the Rev. Jessie Stroud. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the North Iredell American Legion Post 113. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Rock Springs Baptist Church. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Pendergrass family.
