Rex Gilbert Johnson

Johnson Hamptonville - Rex Gilbert Johnson, 82, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014. He was born December 19, 1931 in Yadkin County to the late Henry Clay Johnson and America Shore Johnson. Rex was a devoted member of Flatrock Baptist Church where he sang in the choir for over 50 years and taught Sunday school for 8 years. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Surviving are his wife, Priscilla Moore Johnson; sons, Alex Johnson, Bryan Johnson; sister, Ellen Gough; several special nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Flatrock Baptist Church by the Rev. Joey Tomlin and the Rev. Tim Cannon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Flatrock Baptist Church. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Johnson family.
