Wayne Messersmith

Messersmith Yadkinville- Mr. Wayne Messersmith, Jr., 55, of Griffin Road passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014. He was born March 23, 1959 in Beltsville, MD.. Mr. Messersmith was a retired carpenter who loved working, hunting, fishing, and spending his time outdoors. His greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his beloved 5 grandchildren, and instructing all of them with his "words of wisdom". Mr. Messersmith was preceded in death by his sister, Diana Atkins, and by a sister-in-law, Peg Thornton. Surviving are his devoted wife of 36 years, Mary Boyle Messersmith, of the home; his loving daughters, Amy "Bud" Williams and husband, Larry of Kernersville; Rebecca "Daisy" Rogers and husband, Matthew of Greer, SC; 5 wonderful grandchildren, Taylor Rogers, Kaitlyn Rogers, Makenzie Rogers, Bryce Williams, Ryleigh Williams; his parents, Ellsworth Messersmith, Sr. and Barbara Wood Messersmith of Hagerstown, Md. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday, January 3, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Messersmith will follow the visitation 2:00 PM Saturday in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Brady Morrison, officiating.
