Lillian Elizabeth Hobson Wooten

- Lillian Elizabeth Hobson Wooten of Yadkinville, NC passed away Tuesday Morning, December 30, 2014 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Lillian was born August 26, 1930 in Yadkin County. Lillian's father, Lonnie Hobson died when she was 15 months old and Lillian, her older brother Robert and older sister Hattie May went to live in the Thomasville Baptist Orphanage for several years. When Lillian was 16 years old she married John Winfield Wooten of the Branon Church community. To their union was born one son John Thomas (Tommy) Wooten. Lillian worked for Sara Lee Hosiery in the knitting department for 37 years. She was a member of Branon Friends Meeting. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister, husband John and son Tommy. She is survived by nephews, nieces and cousins including Mary Wooten Joyner who was her caregiver for the past year. Visitation will be Thursday morning, January 1, 2015 at 10 am at Branon Friends Meeting with the memorial service to follow at 11am. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Gentry Funeral Services of Yadkinville are handling arrangements for Mrs. Wooten. Appreciation is given to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and to the staff of the Woltz Hospice Home for the excellent care they provided to Lillian. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home at 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Online condolences may be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
