James Daniel Harris

Harris Yadkinville- Mr. James Daniel Harris, 83, of US Highway 601 passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Avante Nursing Home in Wilkesboro. He was born November 7, 1931 in Yadkin County to the late Ora Edison and Hazel Long Harris. Mr. Harris was retired from Hanes Hoisery, Sara Lee Corporation with 42 years of service. He was also a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Annie Ruth Wagoner Harris; by 2 brothers, Spencer Harris, Norman Harris; and 2 sisters, Alice Judd and Carolyn O'Conner. Surviving are his children, Becky Cruise and husband, Bruce; Connie Jackson and husband, Wayne; Daniel Harris and wife, Dwana; grandchildren, Andrew Cruise, April Burgess Brown, Amanda Burgess, Kaitlyn Hawkins; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Geri Sasser, Doris Carter, Judy Simmons; and a brother, Earl Harris. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM Sunday at Shady Grove Baptist Church. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM Sunday in the church with Rev. Paul Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
