Jones Boonville, NC- Mrs. Harriette Imogene "Emma" Clark Jones, 89, passed away from this world peacefully and entered into her eternal home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 5, 2015. Mrs. Jones was born March 1, 1925 in Glen Ferris, West Virginia to the late Harry Bruce and Celia Rae Bibbee Clark. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by seven sisters and six brothers. Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of 68 years, the Rev. Charles H. Jones, of Boonville, six children, Harold L. Jones and wife, Susan, of Sparta; Rebecca J. Boyd and husband, Robert, of Mooresville; Deborah J. Lyon and husband, Roger of Boonville; Martha J. Schmidt and husband, Bruce, of Landrum, SC; the Rev. Charles G. Jones and wife, Marcia of Watkinsville, Ga.; and Ray A. Jones and wife, Karen of Chesapeake, Va.; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sue Kirby and husband, Bobby of Kanawha Falls, W. Va.; a sister-in-law, Betty Sadler, of Norfolk, Va., and numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. The 9th of 15 children, Mrs. Jones grew up along the Kanawha River in Kanawha Falls, W. Va. She met her husband, "Charlie", when they were both children, and many preserved letters and journal entries speak to their love that grew as they courted while Charlie served in World War II. Upon his return, the couple married on June 8, 1946 in Kanawha Falls, W.Va. Mrs. Jones served alongside her husband as pastor's wife in churches across West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina. In 1989, the couple moved from Virginia Beach, Va. To Boonville upon retirement. Over the years, Mrs. Jones enjoyed crafting and especially quilting. She rocked babies in the church nursery, taught children in both Bible and Sunday Schools, volunteered with Child Evangelism Fellowship and was active in the Women's Missionary union and in various homemaking clubs and organizations. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Hamptonville. Mrs. Jones leaves a legacy of a homemaker who loved and served her family and God well, paving the way for future generations to carry on this godly heritage. Though she never drove, she made an eternal impact across the world, as the six children she raised went on to become missionaries, pastors, businessmen and women and homemakers who then raised their children to serve others and spread the Good News of Jesus across the World. Her funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday January 8, 2015 at Mountain View Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Tucker, Rev. Danny Dodds, Rev. Charles G. Jones, and Rev. Bruce Schmidt, officiating. A private graveside service will follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Boonville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 7, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service on Little Mountain Road in Jonesville.
