Helen Stamper Nixon

Jonesville Mrs. Helen Mae Stamper Nixon, 82, passed away Friday, January 09, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Nixon was born February 25, 1932 in Chilhowie, Virginia to Martin and Edna Greer Stamper. She was a faithful member of East Elkin Full Gospel Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nixon was preceded in death by two husbands, Ralph Testerman and Jimmy Carter; and a son, Dallas Ray Testerman. She is survived by her husband, Roy Cosby Nixon; one son, Larry (Barbara) Testerman; four step children, Debbie Nixon (Brent Casstevens), Betty Jean Woodle, Judy Combs, and Dale Nixon; five grandchildren, Shannon (Travis) Tatum, Dallas Testerman (Tonya Patrick), Lonnie Testerman (Samantha Blanchard), Melissa (Scott) Knauer, and Randy (Beth) Testerman; four step grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren, Brandon Testerman, Blake and Brayson Tatum, Nevaeh, Bethany, Chloey, Lane Testerman, Samantha Knauer, Jared Berry, and Meagan, Morgan, Martin Testerman; one great-great grandson, Weston Testerman; two sisters, Dorothy Keyes and Phyllis Begley; three brothers, Gene Stamper, Edward Stamper, and Walter "RC" Stamper; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful K-9 companion, Mitzi. A funeral service will be conducted Monday, January 12, 2015 at 2:00PM at East Elkin Full Gospel Church with Rev. Jerry Childress officiating. Burial will follow at Central Full Gospel Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church. The family wishes to thank Helen's church family at East Elkin Full Gospel, Rev. Jerry Childress and wife Wanda, Dorry Mathis, and all who have brought food, said prayers, and visited Helen.
