James Daniel Steelman

Steelman Harmony - James "Jimmy" Daniel Steelman, 74, passed away January 21, 2015. He was born February 25, 1940 in Davie County to the late Daniel Boone Steelman and Elizabeth Gillian Steelman. Jimmy was a faithful member of Sandy Springs Baptist Church, where he also served as a Deacon. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Jimmy was a long time member of the Lone Hickory Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Wood Steelman; children, Michael (Mia) Steelman, Tonya (Kevin) Baity; grandchildren, Madison Baity, Laiken Baity, Hunter Hutchens, Megan Hutchens; brother, Jackie (Gail) Steelman; sister, Aileen Steelman; several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Sandy Springs Baptist Church by the Rev. David Kiser, the Rev. Flake Mason, and Chris Snow. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
