Rose Poplin Reavis

Boonville Mrs. Rose Lee Poplin Reavis, 82, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Reavis was born February 28, 1932 in Wilkes County to Claude and Delcie Wiles Poplin. She was a member of Gospel View Baptist Church. Mrs. Reavis enjoyed flowers and gardening. She retired from AT&T in 1988. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reavis was preceded in death by a brother, Claude "Sonny" Poplin. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John L. Reavis; two children, Sharon (Don) Porter and Jonathan (Gwen) Reavis; a step son, Ricky (Elaine) Reavis; nine grandchildren, Jason (Erin) Porter, Josh Porter, Mary Lee Tilley, Bethany, Sarah, and Holly Reavis, John (Tyler) Reavis, Kara (Brian) Wooten, and Nicole (Dewey) Hamby; nine great grandchildren, Hannah and Lanie Porter, Ethan Porter, Kadin and Caleb Reavis, Jesse and Ellie Wooten, Ty and Kylee Hamby; and two nieces, Janet (David) Cox and Lisa (Will) Pruitt. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 2:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Jonesville with Rev. Jerry Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. The family wishes to thank Jerry and Virginia Sizemore, Rev. Dale Cave, Rev. Randy Johnson, and Rev. Brian Wiles for all the love, care, and support shown to Mrs. Reavis and her family. Online condolences may be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
