Edna Carter Pendry

Pendry Edna Carter Pendry, 96, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center. She was born October 9, 1918 in Yadkin County to the late Sanford Dalton Carter and Mattie Lee Pilcher Carter. She retired from Western Electric and was a long time member of Center United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Arthur Lee Pendry; sisters, Ethel Bruce, Elsie Carter, Maude Carter, Audrey Pardue; brothers, Bryce Carter, Ralph Carter, Olaf Carter. Surviving are her children, James (Jane) Pendry of Jamestown, Martha (Danny) Abbott of Yadkinville; grandchildren, Blake Abbott (Jamie Eads) of Arcadia, Beth (Toby) Robertson of Winston-Salem, Jamie (Nathan) Adams of Eagle River, Alaska; great grandchildren, Allie Abbott, Ashlynn Abbott, Camryn Robertson, Reagan Robertson, Riley Robertson, Andrew Adams, Anna Beth Adams; several special nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2015 at Center United Methodist Church by Dr. Bonnie Harris and the Rev. Rex Cranfill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Yadkin Nursing Care Center for the loving care given to Mrs. Pendry. Memorials can be made to Center United Methodist Church, 1400 Center Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Pendry family.
