Alice Coe Shore

Alice Coe Shore, 63, passed away Monday February 9, 2015. She was born November 24, 1951 in Surry County to the late Roy Clifton and Dorothy McCormick Coe. Alice was a graduate of UNC-Greensboro with a BA and Masters of Education. She later obtained her EDS degree from ASU. Alice retired from the Yadkin County School System where she was a long time administrator at Boonville Elementary School. She was a lifetime member of NCAE/NEA as well as a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. She held several offices, most recently as the chairwoman of the Incentive Grant (Scholarships) Committee. She also served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader. Alice was a lifetime member of Rockford Baptist Church where she served in multiple roles. Alice had many leadership positions in her lifetime, but the title she was most proud of was Anderson's Grana. Surviving are her husband Eddie Glen Shore; a son Andrew (Shannon) Shore; grandson Anderson Shore; sister Mavis (Gary) Sebastian; a brother Jerry (Brenda) Coe. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday February 11, 2015 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday February 12, 2015 at Rockford Baptist Church by Rev. Mitch Robertson and Rev. Danny Culler. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Rockford Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 4947 Rockford Road Dobson, NC 27017.
