Richard Lee Redding

Redding Yadkinville- Mr. Richard Lee Redding, 69, of Booger Swamp Road passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Yadkin Valley Community Hospital. He was born March 22, 1945 in Yadkin County to the late Charles and Pearl Potter Redding. Mr. Redding was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with several years of service. He was a member of Center United Methodist Church where he served the church faithfully by serving on several committees and offices within the church. Mr. Redding loved his church, children, grandchildren, family and friends. Later in his life, Mr. Redding enjoyed a couple of years as the driver of his race car at Friendship Speedway in Elkin. Surviving are his devoted wife of 45 years, Gale Redding, of the home; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Kim (Dave) Ferrell of Lewisville, Angie (Jonathan) Tharington, Tobaccoville; grandchildren, Trevor Tharington, Lanie Ferrell, Zack Tharington; brother, Jerry (Carolyn) Redding, Midway; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Monday, February 23, 2015 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Center United Methodist Church by Dr. Rev. Bonnie P. Harris and Rev. Rex Cranfill. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Center Memorial Cemtery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Center United Methodist Church.
