Carrie Holcomb Martin

Carrie J. Holcomb Martin, 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday March 6, 2015. She was born December 13, 1920 in Yadkin County to the late Arthur Roscoe and Hettie Mae Vestal Holcomb. She was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church. Carrie was a loving mother and grandmother, she was also a wonderful homemaker and a CNA at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wade Narvie Martin; son Chris Martin; two sisters Demmie Cook, Lettie Mae Robbins; brother Joe Holcomb. Surviving are her children Rex (Helen) Martin, Roy (Martha Jean) Martin, Brenda (Samuel) Tucker, Toni (Willie) Carter; grandchildren Chad Tucker, Tonya (David) Geren, Beth (Ken) Wagoner, April (Cass) Davis, Randy (Kelly) Martin, Wendy Parker, Sandy (Mellissa) Martin; thirteen great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; sister Ruth Hayes. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:30 Sunday March 8, 2015 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. Her funeral will be conducted at 2:00 Monday March 9, 2015 at Fall Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Don Hudson. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the CNA's and Nurses at Pruitt Health Care and also the Nurses on the second floor at Hugh Chatham memorial Hospital for the loving care given to Mrs. Martin.
