Mrs. Lydia Ann Baity Shore, 77, passed away Thursday morning, March 12, 2015 at Somerset Court Assisted Living in Mocksville, NC. She was a life-long resident of Davie County and was born December 14, 1937 to Edburn Flake Baity and Fannie Blanche Burgess Baity. Lydia was a life-long member of and attended Courtney Baptist Church in Yadkinville, NC. She retired from Hanes Hosiery/Sara Lee with more than 45 years of service. Lydia loved many things; among the most precious were her church, her family, antiques, and traveling. She loved people, as anyone who met her can attest. She had a beautiful smile and was often called "the hat lady" due to her love of hats. Quite often she and her family gathered to play Rook, watch ACC basketball or Major League Baseball (she was an Atlanta Braves fan). Lydia is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Clayton Shore. She is survived by her children, Sheila Ann Tutterow (Jeff) from Mocksville, NC and Angela Beashel Llewellyn from Pensacola, Fl.: three grandchildren; Benjamin and Nathaniel Tutterow, and Andrew Llewellyn. Also surviving are two sisters: Betty Jane York and Gay Nell Lawrence; and one brother, William (Bill) Ray Baity. Also preceding her in death are two sisters: Fannie Belle Bailey and Frances Henri Warner; and two brothers, James Wesley Baity and Edburn (Ed) Baity. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 3:00pm at Courtney Baptist Church with the Rev. Brenda McCalop officiating. Burial will follow in the Courtney Cemetery. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the funeral service (from 2:00 - 3:00pm).
