East Bend Mr. Tommy John Shore, 49, passed away peacefully Monday, March 30, 2015 surrounded by his family. Tommy was born February 19, 1966 in Yadkin County to John Henry and Patricia Geraldine Pitts Shore. He was a member of East Bend Friends Meeting, which he dearly loved, and served the church faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Adult Choir. Mr. Shore was a graduate of Forbush High School class of 1984. He worked for many years as an electrician at Rock Tenn Alliance. Tommy was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer and he loved to play cards. He loved his "puppies", Sparticus, Mollie, and Chester. His love of God was an inspiration to all who met him. He was hardworking and strong and will be remembered for his humorous nature and mischievous ways. Tommy was a devoted husband, loving father, and wonderful son. In addition to his parents, Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Tammy Taylor Shore; a son, John Travis Shore and wife Dena; a daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth Shore and fiancée Will Wooten; a sister, Kendra Liles; a brother, Marty Shore and wife Kendra; niece and nephews, Hannah and Eli Shore and Trevor Liles; and J.C. Collins, who he loved like a son. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 3:00PM at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Bobby Choplin and Rev. Rick Page officiating. Burial will follow at Pilot View Friends Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dena for the special care given to Tommy. Also to their church family, friends and community for all the love, prayers and support shown to them.
