Jonesville Mr. Kenneth Groce Campbell, 84, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 03, 2015. Kenneth was born November 15, 1930 in Yadkin County to Roscoe and Pearl Groce Campbell. He was a lifelong member of North Oak Ridge Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher for many years. Kenneth also served as music leader and choir director for over 60 years. Kenneth was a graduate of Boonville High School and High Point University. He was a man who loved his country and was proud to have served in the US Army just after the Korean War. He retired from Chatham Manufacturing after 38 ½ years of service. Kenneth also worked briefly at Brendles Inc. then at Walmart for 14 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by two brothers, J. Lee Campbell and Richard Campbell; and one sister, Lola Mae Oliver. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley Ann Moxley Campbell; four children, Judy (Richard) Childers, Douglas (Kay) Campbell, Darrell Campbell, and Ann (Everette) Miller; five grandchildren, Tina Childers, Jennifer (Paul) Robinson, Jessica Sheek, Kayla Campbell, and Corey Campbell; one great grandchild, Christina Robinson; two sisters, Lorene Mendenhall and Georgia Carpenter; and two brothers, Graham Campbell and Byron Campbell. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, April 5, 2015 at 4:00PM at North Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Link and Rev. Perry Link officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and NC National Guard Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 2:30PM to 4:00PM prior to the service at the church.
