Carlton Yadkinville- Mrs. Maude Marie "Granny" Macemore Carlton, 95, of Hoots Road passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, April 09, 2015. She was born December 23, 1919 in Yadkin County to the late Edd Hampton and Nancy Eve Haynes Macemore. Mrs. Carlton was a loving homemaker for her family, enjoyed spending her time by taking care of her grandchildren, and especially loved hearing everyone call her "Granny". She was also a faithful member of South Oak Ridge Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie Robert Carlton; a son, Robert Larry Carlton, 3 sisters, Verlie Hasabelle Macemore, Clemmie Macemore, Dinie Vestal, and by a brother, Rev. Clay Macemore. Surviving are her daughters, Jerri Dodge, Jan C. Hall, and Sandy (Bob) Chipman, all of Yadkinville; her daughter-in-law, Maebelle Dinkins Carlton, Yadkinville; 6 grandchildren, Teresa Carlton, Andra Hunter, Carla (Curt) Alphonso, Steve "Bo" Hall, Jamie (Kristi) Dodge, Kristi (Matt) Matthews; 9 great-grandchildren, Bethany Hunter, Will Jarvis, Dylan Hunter, Sydney Matthews, Dalton Matthews, Luke Alphonso, Owen Alphonso, Addison Dodge, Camden Matthews; and two nephews, Oland Macemore, Eddie Macemore. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Friday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be 4:00 PM Saturday at South Oak Ridge Baptist Church by Dr. Phil Beavers. She will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
