Josephine Burchette Norman, 72, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday April 17, 2015. She was born February 27, 1943 in Surry County to the late Russell James and Lollie Anders Burchette. She was a member of Peace Haven Baptist Church. Mrs. Norman was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry Eldon Norman on March 31, 2002, a daughter Amy Leigh Norman, grandsons Michael Hayes and Tyler Bright, great grandchild Daniel Hall, step great grandchild Heidi Hardy, brother David Burchette. Surviving are her children Debra Ann (Alex) Moser, Teresa Lynn (Charles) Bodenhamer, Susan Kaye (Andy) Hayes, Angela Diane (Brent) Casstevens, Michael David (Roxie) Norman; ten grandchildren, nine step grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren, fourteen step great grandchildren; two sisters Kaye (Kenneth) Hayes, Mary Ann (Bryan) Kovach; two brothers Eugene (Margaret) Burchette, Joseph (Wanda) Burchette; sister in law Shirley Burchette. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday April 20, 2015 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday April 21, 2015 at Peace Haven Baptist Church by Rev. George Evans. She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to Hospice and Palliative care Davie Team "Emily" and also a special nurse Brenda Hines for the loving care given to Mrs. Norman.
