Ronald Vance Childress

Sherrills Ford Mr. Ronald "Joe" Vance Childress, 64, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015. Mr. Childress was born March 20, 1951 in Surry County to the late Sam and Evelyn Cook Childress. Mr. Childress is survived by two children, Timmy Joe Childress (Kristine Elledge) and Julie (Barry) Suddreth; three grandchildren, Charity Smith, Kasi Danielle Brooks, and Rylea Suddreth; four great grandchildren, Jakob Smith, Aubrey Smith, Chance Childress, and Arabella Brooks; one brother, Romie "Dink" Childress; special niece and nephews, Renee Johnson, Gerry Childress, and Gary Childress. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville with Rev. Steve Barber and Rev. Junior Harrold officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville.
