Ruth Moxley

Yadkinville Mrs. Ruth Mackie Moxley, 87, went home to be with Jesus, April 30, 2015 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Moxley was born November 24, 1927 in Yadkin County to Frank and Izetta Mackie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Franklin "Sonny" Mackie. Ruth was an active member of Yadkinville Presbyterian Church. Her faith in God was strong and God's love for others was demonstrated through her life. She was a devoted and loving mother, sister, friend and grandmother. Ruth was a people person who loved life and had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was a graduate of Yadkinville High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Ruth worked with the Veterans Administration a few years before working with Mutual Federal Savings and Loan for over 20 years. After retiring, she later received her nursing aide certificate from Surry Community College. Upon retirement she devoted herself to caring for her parents until their deaths. Ruth always loved and supported her children, grandchildren, sister, and son-in-law. She was a very special person who was dearly loved and will be forever cherished. She is survived by two children, Allison (CG) Hicks and Kelly Boles; grandchildren, Reid Hallyburton and India Rose (Deacon) Plitt; and one sister, Margaret Anderson. A visitation will be held Monday, May 4, 2015 from 1:00 to 2:00PM at Yadkinville Presbyterian Church. A celebration of life service will be conducted following the visitation at 2:00PM at the church with Rev. Patty Choplin and Rev. Richard Eskew officiating. Burial will follow at Yadkinville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson NC 27017.
