Betty H. "Nannie" Styers

Styers Yadkinville- Mrs. Betty H. "Nannie" Styers, 68, of Griffin Road passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born February 24, 1947 in Surry County to the late John Herman and Vernie Mae Hayes Hobson. Mrs. Styers was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and had been a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling to the Beach, taking care of her flowers, and especially being with her Grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Hobson, Junior Hobson, Joe Hobson, and her sister, Libby Pilcher. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Larry A. Styers; daughter, Jan S. (Jerry) Thompson; son, Chris (Melinda) Styers; grandchildren, Megan and Cody Styers, Kaitlin Thompson; sisters, Emma Jean Sizemore, Kathleen Rutledge; and a brother, Frank Hobson. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. Her funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday at the Gentry Family Chapel by Jason Brown. Interment will follow in the Union Cross Friends Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
