Allred Hamptonville- Mrs. Barbara Dobbins Allred, 66, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born on September 9, 1948 to the late Jesse and Eula Groce Dobbins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Allred ("Jr."), a sister Gladys Lunsford and a brother Franklin Dobbins. Surviving are her son, Randy Allred and her daughter and special son-in-law Sandy and Daniel Brown, all of Hamptonville. She also leaves behind a sister Blanche (Donald) Hutchens of Yadkinville and a brother Gray (Cleo) Dobbins of Ramsuer, NC, a special sister-in-law Joyce Dobbins of Boonville, as well as many other special family members and friends. She was a 1966 graduate of Yadkinville High School as well as Carolina Beauty College where she received her cosmetology license. She worked at Sara Lee Hosiery until it closed at which time she continued to care for her husband until he passed away in February of 2012. Mrs. Allred battled lung cancer for nearly 11 months displaying her steadfast faith in Christ and her unwavering strength and courage. She loved her family and friends unconditional and even in her most difficult times; she was an inspiration to so many. She was an active member of Mtn. View Baptist Church in Hamptonville. She was a "lady" in every definition of the word and true believer of the gospel. She was a genuine loving mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She believed in living her life so that no one could ever question her Christian faith. Visitation for Mrs. Allred will be Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 6-8 PM at the Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Mt. View Baptist Church in Hamptonville by Rev. Tim Tucker. Burial will follow at Asbury United Methodist Church. We would like to say a special "Thank You" to the Oncology Team of Dr. Timothy Collins of Novant Health, Mtn. Valley Hospice, the Woltz Hospice Home and the countless family members and friends that loved her and supported her in these most difficult days. You will never know how much it means to us as her children to see how many people loved her in return.
