Callie Lorene Mendenhall

Kernersville Mrs. Callie Lorene Campbell Mendenhall, 92, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at Churchill Assisted Living. Mrs. Mendenhall was born September 24, 1922 in Yadkin County to Roscoe and Pearl Groce Campbell. She was a member of United Methodist Church of San Marcos California. Mrs. Mendenhall was active in the United Methodist Women and the Hand Bell Choir. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mendenhall was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Sylvester Mendenhall; one step son, Richard Mendenhall; one sister, Lola Mae Oliver; and three brothers, J. Lee Campbell, Kenneth Campbell, and Richard Campbell. She is survived by two children, Karen (Shawn) Amirehsani, Robert (Lisa) King; 5 step children, Lamont Mendenhall, Jeanne (Jim) Hinthorne, Esther (Lonnie) Batterton, Donald (Lori) Mendenhall, and Pamela (David) Homan; 24 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one sister, Georgia Carpenter; two brothers, Byron (Grace Ann) Campbell and Graham (Lib) Campbell; and multiple nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 2:00PM at North Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Link and Pastor Linwood Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to N.
