Ruby Holcomb Swaim

Swaim Boonville - Ruby Holcomb Swaim, 97, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center. She was born October 11, 1917 in Yadkin County to the late James Reftin Holcomb and Victoria Bryant Holcomb. Mrs. Swaim was the oldest living member of Swaims Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and her flowers. Ruby retired from Chatham Manufacturing Company in 1981 with 42 years of service. Words cannot fully express the love and care Mrs. Swaim displayed to her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Monroe Swaim. Surviving are her daughter, Kay Lee Swaim Winebarger Blevins and her husband Johnny Pierce Blevins; grandson, John Daniel Winebarger; great grandson, Dustin Chad Winebarger. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Swaims Baptist Church by the Rev. Randy Johnson and the Rev. Jerry Shelton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
