Yadkinville Mr. Charlie Cline Hobson, 93, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Hobson was born March 23, 1922 in Yadkin County to Vance and Nellie Wooten Hobson. He was a lifelong member of Union Grove Baptist Church where he held several offices. Charlie won several DHIA Awards for dairy farming. He was also a former fire chief of the Fall Creek Fire Department. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hobson was preceded in death by three brothers, Clay and Junior Hobson and John Henry Hutchens. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Doris Money Hobson; two sons, Ted (Catherine) Hobson and Rex (Beverly) Hobson; two grandchildren, Meredith (Ryan) Showalter and Landon (Nikki) Hobson; two great grandchildren, Mason and Maddox Showalter; one sister, Laura Louise Pardue; one brother, Paul Hobson; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 3:30PM at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Gooden, Rev. Ryan Showalter, Rev. Jon White, and Rev. Jack Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30PM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church, 2401 Nebo Rd, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
