Bryant Yadkinville - Mr. Lester Maynard Bryant, 85, of Falcon Road passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. He lived a good life and now has gone home to be with his Heavenly Father and Family. He was born September 28, 1929 in Cape Hatteras, NC to the late Charles and Lela Miller Bryant. Mr. Bryant was retired from Hanes Hosiery with 43 years of service. He enjoyed spending his time outside working in his garden, farming, fishing, or mowing. He was a faithful member of Forbush Baptist Church where he served the church on various committees. Mr. Bryant served as a Deacon and on the Grounds Committee, where he mowed the church grounds from 24 years with his wife. After his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling and were able to visit 28 different states. Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by his 6 brothers and sisters, Kenneth (Stacey) Bryant, Lois Vestal, Herbert (Mae) Bryant, Mary (Hugh) Goforth, William (Nell) Bryant, and Maxine Allen. Surviving are his beloved wife of 66 years, Norma Jean Dinkins Bryant, of the home; a son, Dennis M. Bryant; granddaughter, Bridget Bryant Hicks; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Hicks, Austin Tuttle, all of the Forbush Community; and a brother-in-law, Junis Allen, Boonville; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 PM Thursday at Forbush Baptist Church. He will lie in-state from 2:30-3:00PM at the church. His funeral service will follow the visitation and in-state at 3:00 PM in Forbush Baptist Church by Rev. Joe Souther. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forbush Baptist Church, 3917 Old US 421 Hwy East, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
