Boonville Mrs. Annie Pearl Calloway Collins, 101, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mrs. Collins was born August 24, 1913 in Yadkin County to Isom and Mary Holcomb Calloway. She was a member of Mitchell's Chapel UMC. She and her husband farmed and gardened for over 75 years and she enjoyed quilting and cooking. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Gurney Nathan Collins; a daughter, Gloria Dean Bowen; and two brothers, Thad and Leo Calloway. She is survived by three children, Roger (Patrice) Collins; Linda (Alton) Beard, and Kathy (Roger) Black; son-in-law, Donald Bowen; seven grandchildren, Dr. Marta Bowen, Kristy (Scott) Hatch, Julie (Don) Horne, Aaron (Rachel) Beard, Nathan Collins, Emily Black, and Jonathan Black; three great grandchildren, Olivia, Collin, and Isabella Horne; and three sisters-in-law, Josephine Goins, Annie Dobbins, and Earline Calloway. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 4:00PM at Mitchell's Chapel UMC with Rev. John Pillsbury officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30PM Saturday at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mitchell's Chapel UMC, 2410 Center Rd. Boonville, NC 27011. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center for all the loving care given to Mrs. Collins.
