Tony Macy Mathis

Tony Macy Mathis, 71, passed away Thursday June 4, 2015. He was born February 28, 1944 to the late Garland and Vertie Macy Mathis. Mr. Mathis was retired from R. J. Reynolds. He also enjoyed Farming, Gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Rose Collins. Surviving are his wife Brenda Pinnix Mathis; Children Lisa (Ben) Roberts, Todd (Renieta) Mathis, Richie (Myra) Mathis; grandchildren Corey Roberts, Jake Roberts, Ethan Mathis, Layken Mathis, Seth Mathis, Landrey Mathis, Ashton Jenkins; two sisters Joann Brown, Lib (Roger) Groce; three brothers R G (Ditty) Mathis, Rex Mathis, Ray (Dorry) Mathis; brother-in-law Larry Collins. The family will receive friends from 6:30 -8:30 PM Saturday June 6, 2015 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. His funeral will be conducted at 2:30 PM Sunday June 7, 2015 at Swan Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Scott Bishop, Dr. Howard Wilburn, and Rev. Roger Groce.
