Yadkinville Mr. Julius "June" "Doodle" Fenimore Potts, 81, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Potts was born July 14, 1933 in Davie County to Luther and Sally Cline Potts. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Potts was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church. He was a retired member and an active Board member of Courtney Fire Department. Mr. Potts retired from Ingersoll Rand. He enjoyed gardening, mowing, and helping friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents, Mr. Potts was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Brown Potts; two sisters, Rosie Smith and Kathleen Fender; and two brothers, Luke Potts and Wesley "Red" Potts. He is survived by three sons, Richard (Cindy) Potts, Steven Potts, and Dale Potts; three grandchildren, Julie, Timothy, and Marcus Potts; one sister, Mildred "Mick" Tise; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Mary Kathryn "Dubie" Baity. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 11:00AM at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin Blackburn and Rev. Noel Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the NC National Guard Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church Missionary Fund, c/o Lowell Reavis, 489 Duard Reavis Rd Mocksville, NC 27028.
