HOLMAN East Bend - Clyde Elbert Holman, age 87, passed away peacefully at his home on July 31, 2015. He was born in Davie County to the late Guy Boone Holman and Ella Witherspoon Holman. He was also preceded in death by all of his siblings: Hanes, Johnny, Charlie, Helen, and Camilla, by his 5-year-old son Stephen Eugene Holman, and stepson Nick Baldillo. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Daisy; his daughters - Linda Chaffin of Lexington and ShaRee Parker and husband, Terry, of Yadkinville; step-children Pat Bricolo and husband, John, of Pinnacle; Roberta Mickel and husband, Darrell, of Elkin; Robby Shaw of State Road; Stuart Shaw and wife, Dawn, of Gallatin, Tennessee; Samuel Baldillo and wife Xy-za, of East Bend; Genny Panganiban and husband, Ken, of East Bend; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He served in the Navy during World War II aboard the USS Orvetta. He was self-employed as a master carpenter, brick mason, mechanic, and auto body repairman, having rebuilt hundreds of vehicles in his lifetime. He built several beautiful homes and did numerous renovations for friends and acquaintances. Up until he suffered a stroke in October 2012 he was still working every day. He was very talented and could build or repair anything. He was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed gardening. In his later years he enjoyed eating out at area restaurants, one of his favorite being Yadkin Plaza Family Restaurant, where he enjoyed the special attention by Wendy Sherman. He was a minister and very well versed in the Bible. Upon his request, there will be a private graveside service with Full Military Honors by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and U.S. Navy Funeral Honor Guard. The family expresses their appreciation to the staff from Willowbrook Rehabilitation Center and Mountain Valley Hospice for their kindness.
