Jack Donald Current

Hamptonville Mr. Jack Donald Current, 87, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 04, 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Mr. Current was born October 16, 1927 in Yadkin County to John Elmer and Mary Selena Bovender Current. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served during WWII. In addition to his parents, Mr. Current was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Georgia Ashburn Current; two children, Pennie (Michael) Reinhardt and Ricky Current; five grandchildren, Michelle (Chuck) Tavano, Josh (Amy) Reinhardt, Courtney (Fielding) Stocksdale, Catherine Current, and Candace Current; four great grandchildren, Ian and Mattie Tavano, Haley Reinhardt, and Simeon Stocksdale; one sister, Jean Pardue; two sisters-in-law, Joyce and Louise Current; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11:00AM at St. Paul UMC cemetery with Chaplain Mark Brown officiating. Full military honors will be provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mtn.
