Robert Eddie Martin

Boonville Mr. Robert Eddie Martin, 70, passed away Friday, August 7, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Martin was born October 29, 1944 in Surry County to Carl and Ola Baity Martin. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, having served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Martin was a member of the Patriot Guard and had served over 300 families on funeral services. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his father. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two children, Russell Scott Martin and wife Lilliana, and Traci Martin; two step children, Lisa New and Danny Sears; and two grandchildren, Eric and Brandon Martin. A funeral service will be conducted Monday, August 10, 2015 at 2:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Yadkinville. Burial will follow in Boonville Cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation Gift Processing Administrator 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive Triangle, VA 22172. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and Hugh Chatham Hospital for all the great care given to Mr. Martin.
