Helen Johnson Edwards

Edwards East Bend - Helen Johnson Edwards, 65, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born December 5, 1949 in Forsyth County to the late Hiram William "Bill" Johnson and Mary Bridges Johnson. Helen loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a member of Faith Community Baptist Church for over 20 years. She was in Forbush High School first graduating class in 1968. Helen worked at Wilson Cook until retiring and became a loving mother, grandmother and housewife. She was a member of Ladies of the Kitchen Ministry, served as secretary and assistant treasurer at her church. She had the biggest heart in the world, loved by so many, she will be missed by everyone. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Johnson. Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Byron Wayne Edwards; children, Daniel Edwards, Jamie (Scott) Hornsby, Victoria Edwards; grandson, Connor James Edwards; sister, Cynthia Glasscoe; nephews, Chris Reavis, Dustin Glasscoe, Josh Edwards; nieces, Brandy Best, Amy Brown Anderson; many close cousins; and other family members. Her funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Brian Poindexter, the Rev. Don Ball and the Rev. Keith Jones. Burial will follow at Allen Johnson Cemetery in East Bend. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2015 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
