All who knew him loved his sense of humor and kind spirit. Lawrence is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Annette Spillman Hobson, along with a family of children, grandchildren, relatives and friends who will love and remember him forever. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, three siblings, and his best friend and they were in his thoughts every passing day. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 1:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Joe Souther officiating. Burial will follow at Forbush Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Derrick L.
