Roten Winston-Salem- Mason Camden Roten, our "Sweet Little Angel", passed away peacefully Sunday, September 6, 2015 while lovingly being cradled by his mother at Brenner's Children's Hospital at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Little Mason was the personification of "Joy", he had the ability to light up any room with his smile, and loved to show his happiness through his smile, actions, and the dancing of his "Happy" feet. His family was so proud of how strong and intelligent Mason was by walking and talking by 8 Months. Mason was born April 28, 2014 in Forsyth County to his loving parents, Andrew and Heather Leupold Roten, who survive of Winston-Salem, and was the Best Friend to his Big brother, Bentley Roten. Also surviving are his beloved maternal grandparents, Chris Leupold of Dobson and Frances Combs of Mt. Airy; maternal great-grandmother, Faye Leupold; paternal grandparents, Stewart and Teresa B. Roten of Elkin; paternal great-grandfather, Joe Byrd; his aunt, Elizabeth Roten; uncles, Alex Roten and Nathan Roten; as well as numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be held 3:30 PM Thursday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Stewart Roten and Stan Tuttle. The family requests that memorials may be made to Freewater Church, 1700 Ebert Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Mason's family has been overwhelmed by the prayers that have been lifted on Mason's behalf on Social Media throughout the world. Truly, the sun did not set on the prayers offered on behalf of Mason. The family would also like to express their gratitude to Forsyth County E.M. S., Walkertown Fire Department, Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center Emergency Department Physicians, Nurses, staff and the nurses and staff of Brenner's Children 4th Floor PICU for the loving care given to Mason.
