Rachel Mae Pendry

East Bend Mrs. Rachel Mae Wall Pendry, 77, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Brookstone Terrace, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Pendry was born May 31, 1938 in Yadkin County to Evan and Roxie Davis Wall. She was a member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Pendry will be remembered for her baking skills and beautifully decorated cakes, and also her sewing abilities. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pendry was preceded in death by eight siblings; a great grandchild, Avett Ray Jester; and a K-9 companion, Harley. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Benny Lee Pendry; four children, Dana (Tommy) Jester, Denise (Charles) Smitherman, Bentley (Belinda) Pendry, and Rodney (Jan) Pendry; eight grandchildren, Nathan (Kimberly) Jester, Drew (Mandie) Jester, Ashley (Travis) Miller, Miranda (Dylan) Hines, Trevin (Katie) Pendry, McKenna Pendry, Austin Pendry, and Jensen Pendry; two great grandchildren, Kannon Miller and Gracie Jester; one sister, Wilma Hoots; and one brother, Larry (Gloria) Wall. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 4:00PM at Richmond Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Will Hamric officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She will lie in state from 3:30 to 4:00PM. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richmond Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 2205 Richmond Hill Church Rd, Boonville, NC 27011. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Carol Minton, the staff of Forrest Heights and the staff of Brookstone Terrace for all the love, care and support shown to Mrs. Pendry and her family.
